This is my second time in Istanbul and my 3rd hotel in Sultanahmet. It is by far the best hotel I’ve stayed in in this area. The room and bathroom are nice and clean. The rooms and reception are are exactly like in the picture, and the staff are probably one of the main highlights of this hotel. They’re so kind, friendly and extremely helpful and thoughtful especially Ilham and Anwar. The breakfast is by far the best out of the 3 hotels we stayed at. They had a range of cheeses, olives, salami and other Turkish breakfast items. Tea and coffee was available and they had cakes and sweets everyday, fruits, jams, cornflakes and a new honeycomb everyday. And everyday they had 4 different hot items which mainly included boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, fried onions rings or potato/hash browns, and some other sausy hot dish with sausages or something else. They tried to change up the hot food and cheeses and Turkish items every 1-2 days to keep the breakfast varied. They also didn’t mind making omelettes on request if really needed but honestly the breakfast is good enough without personal requests. It was something me and my husband looked forward to every morning as there was just so much choice. Location of the hotel is also great. It’s just a 2 minute walk to the tram station. Aya Sophia, The grand bazaar, spice bazaar and blue mosque are all within walking distance. So is the pier where you can get a Bosphorus ride or grab a ferry to the Asian side or Princess Island. Bare in mind it’s one hotel but with 2 different wings, so on Booking you will find it as Hotel Black Pearl and Hotel Black Tulip. We stayed in Hotel Black Pearl which had the pink interior. I assume Black Tulip is the brownish interior. The only other difference is that Black Pearl has steps up to the elevator that takes you to the rooms whereas Black Tulip has an elevator directly from reception and is therefore step free.

The location couldn't be better - it is in a walking distance of all the major cultural sights. The room was kept clean impeccably. Very good variety for breakfast - pastry, dairy, eggs, fresh salads, fruit, olives, cereals.... we loved it! There is a 24 hour reception service and the hotel staff are very helpful and kind. They arranged the airport shuttle for us, they helped us with valuable advice on what to see, where to exchange money etc. Always there for you, they helped us immediately with a minor problem with the flushing system in the toilet - they called a technician and it was solved quickly (and on a Sunday evening!) We stayed in a family room facing the street. Yes, there is a tram line in the street bellow as you may have read in the previous reviews. Yes, the tram passes every couple of minutes. Did it bother us? No, not at all. There is no traffic after midnight, and in the early morning the trams do not make much noise. Sometimes, during the day, it can be noisy, but then, bear in mind that this is a large city of 15 million people and this hotel is in the center, in a very lively neighbourhood. You don't come to Istanbul for an afternoon nap, do you? :) I think it all added to our fantastic Istanbul experience

We loved our stay at black pearl! It’s in a perfect location to explore Istanbul. This is our second time staying here and loved it both times. The staff are so lovely and accomodating. Breakfast great, beds comfortable, nothing to fault with the hotel! Highly recommend. The only negative was the shuttle service. My suggestion is to ask in advance for the shuttle driver not to drive too fast - it only happened once out of four times to the airport but it wasn’t nice so I recommend asking the hotel staff to advise the driver you are not in a rush to get to the airport so don’t need to drive at an excessive speed. We also had to wait 25 min for the shuttle to arrive at the airport. All in all a lovely stay!

Our stay at Hotel Black Pearl was absolutely wonderful! The hotel’s cleanliness was impeccable, making us feel comfortable and well taken care of from the moment we arrived. The location is excellent, allowing easy access to the main attractions and everything we needed during our trip. A special thank you to the staff, who were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with anything we needed. Their kindness and professionalism truly made our stay even more enjoyable. We appreciate everything and would highly recommend Hotel Black Pearl to anyone looking for a great place to stay. We highly recommand the hotel which is well located. We had a very nice time in Istanbul for our first time here to visit this beautiful city with family. We already plan to come back and for sure we will return to the black tulip hotel. We would like to thank all the staff and especially Efe and Aslan. They are very helpful and kind. It is very appréciable. They are full of nice attention, and always ready to help. Our flight back was very early on the morning and they offer us sandwiches. It was a really lovely attention. The hôtel is very clean, well maintained and the room is very spacious.
